Aragorn II Son of Arathorn II-
Elrond Half-Elven, the Lord of the Elven Haven of Imladris (Rivendell), raised Aragorn in secret not letting him know his true identity. For he is the descendant of Elendil thus making him heir to the throne of the combined kingdom of Gondor and Arnor. Aragorn fell in love with Arwen Undomiel, Elronds daughter. When he got older he went to the North and became a leader among the Dunedain also known as The Rangers of the North. While he was a Ranger he went many places in the wild and knew the area around Bree, The Shire and Rivendell very well. He was in Bree when Frodo and his companions showed up. He helped them get to Rivendell and used his various expertises to guide them. When he got to Rivendell he participated in the Council of Elrond and became a member of the Fellowship of the Ring. The Shards of Narsil were kept in Rivendell. Narsil had been Elendils sword, which broke beneath him when he died at the Last Alliance of Elves and Men at the end of the First Age. The Shards of Narsil were re-forged in Rivendell for Aragorn; it was then called Andurėl, The Flame of the West. Aragorn bore Andurėl throughout the War of the Ring pouring fear into his enemys hearts.
